Who is it for?

The course is designed for individuals who have already gained the PRINCE2® Practitioner Qualification. Candidates are expected from both the Public and Private Sector including those working in the management of projects ranging from individual assignments through to those working on large capital or change projects. This includes:

  • Project Team Members
  • Recently appointed Project Officers

Are there any requirements?

In order to enrol on this course you will need to have completed the PRINCE2® Practitioner certification before starting.

In order to completed the course, you will be required to complete two 3 days workshops.

What skills will I gain?

The syllabus for the APMP qualification for PRINCE2® Practitioners recognises prior learning and achievement. This qualification is based upon the APM Body of Knowledge which encompasses all areas of project management including strategic and commercial considerations, together with the technical, organisational and people management skills required to participate effectively in project management. Areas covered include:

• Context of project management

• Planning and strategy

• Executing the strategy

• Techniques

• Business and commercial

• Organisation and governance

• People and profession

The syllabus has been designed to complement the PRINCE2® Practitioner syllabus and includes only those subjects that are not fully contained within the PRINCE2® method.

  • Purple zone - Planning

How will I be assessed?

In order to achieve the APMP certification, you will be required to pass the APMP exam.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
