Overview

The Distance Learning Canine Science Level 3 course is a fully comprehensive course and it will give you an understanding of the psychology of canine learning and behaviour, anatomy and physiology and how to provide the correct nutrition for dogs of a variety of breeds and ages. You will also learn about the varied roles of dogs in society.

The course also covers the history and evolution of the canine, exploring the differences between dogs and their wolf ancestors.

For the Canine Science Level 3 course you will cover the following content:-

Module 1: Evolution and domestication of the canine

Module 2: Similarities and differences between dogs and wolves

Module 3: Common canine behaviours and how dogs learn

Module 4: Canines in society ?Module 5: Correct nutrition

Module 6: Anatomy and physiology of the canine special senses

There are no exams at the end of this course and assessments are based purely on coursework only.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from ABC Awards and Certa Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).

Requirements

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this home study course. This course is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.

Career path

On completion of this course you may want to look into jobs within kennels, the zoo, animal rescue centres and sanctuaries. You could also work in animal hospitals, Blue Cross adoption centres or as an animal collection officer for the RSPCA.
