ASAP Start

A large PRU in Croydon is recruiting several Teaching Assistants for full time, ongoing positions starting ASAP or in January for the full academic year. Working hours are 8.15am - 4.00pm 4 days per week and 8.30am - 4.30pm 1 day per week.

The school caters for 150 pupils aged 5-16 years old, with EHCPs for SEMH, however many students have additional needs such as ASD, ADHD and SpLD. As well as a varied curriculum, they also offer a range of therapies and extra-curricular activities.

The selected applicants will have previous SEN experience, especially with SEMH and associated needs. As well as supporting students on a 1:1 basis, you will also be required to support whole classes when needed. You may be required to teach students on a 1:1 basis, as directed by the class teacher, so must be confident academically. Many of the students are disengaged, therefore you will need to be resilient and calm, preparing to put in the time required to build relationships with the students you support.

The school are open to looking at candidates from a youth work background, who have had some school experience or wish to transitional into an educational setting. A degree would be desirable, but not essential.
