SF Group are pleased to be working with a Local Authority within the West Midlands to recruit a highly skilled Financial Accountant who can use their expertise to assist with the council's year end close down.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Production of the annual accounts in compliance with standards and leading on management of year end audit process
- Providing advice and assistance throughout the department on best practice in taxation matters
- Ensuring monthly production of trial balance and balance sheets
- Monitoring and review existing finance systems and processes to ensure that they are effective
The successful candidate will be a technically strong qualified Accountant with demonstrable experience of budget monitoring, budget setting and statutory accounts in a local government environment. You will have the ability to organise, plan and deliver work to very tight deadlines and you will be resilient to working within a changing team.
This is an interim role for an initial period of 6 months.
