Year 5 Teaching Assistant

A small and friendly Primary school in South Manchester is seeking an experienced teaching Assistant for their Year 5 class, to start in April 2018.

This role will include providing classroom support to the pupils, assisting the teacher with preparation of learning activities in line with the KS2 guidelines and working closely with the staff and parents.

The school is a Community Primary school, situated in South Manchester with excellent transport links. The staff cohort is long serving and the environment is warm, friendly and caring, with a focus on building children's self-esteem whilst encouraging them to strive for academic excellence.

The successful teaching assistant will be working in Year 5, carrying out general teaching assistant duties as well as supporting small groups of children and individual children on a 1:1 basis. This Year 5 teaching assistant role requires a dedicated and experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to support the pupils on their creative learning journey. They are seeking an inspirational person with a passion for education and achievement. The successful candidate will also be required to be involved in assessing and tracking the progression of the pupils and developing encouraging learning behaviours within the classroom.

To be eligible to apply for this role you will need:

*Experience in supporting pupils and managing pupils learning independently
*KS2 Knowledge and experience in raising attainment for children of all ability levels
* Experience and knowledge of SEN and behavioural strategies
* A positive and passionate approach to children's education
* A flexible and adaptable approach to work
* The Ability to deliver fun and activities in line with the national curriculum
