Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 Team to support a child diagnosed with Autism. The role is due to start as soon as possible and will last until July 2018 with the view of continuing in September 2018. This position will require you to support one specific child on a one to one basis during all class lessons. This will be a full-time position. Your daily rate of pay will be £75.00 per day.
The Primary school is a happy and successful 3 form entry Primary School based near Hendon and Colindale in Barnet. When visiting the school, I was very impressed at how warming and welcoming all staff where. The school have excellent behaviour across all year groups and excellent behaviour management policies which mean staff can concentrate on teaching and learning. The school current admit pupils from Nursery to Year 6. They have been serving the local community for over 40 years. They are a very popular school and often oversubscribed with all classes at full capacity.

*Previous experience supporting pupils diagnosed with Autism
*Understanding of how to use PECS and MAKATON

This role will require you to support a child in Year 1 who has been diagnosed with Autism. The child is verbal. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the child is happy and safe during their time in school whilst still learning and achieving in lessons. On a regular basis, you will liaise with the child's parents and work in collaboration to ensure the child is reaching set targets and is happy at school.
The school is easily accessible from North and South London being located close to the Northern Line. There a bus stop 2 minutes from school and street parking available for staff who wish to drive.
In return, the school offers a fun and friendly teaching environment where all staff enjoy attending school daily. CPD is provided by the schools Inclusion Manager monthly allowing progression and support for all staff. Classrooms are spacious and bright with outdoor learning spaces for each class. Permanent contracts are offered to stay who prove to be hardworking, enthusiastic and committed.
