KS1 Teaching Assistant - Gloucester 1:1 Hearing loss
We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work 1.1 with a Year 1 child in a vibrant infant school in Gloucester. This job will be working on a full time and ongoing basis from March 2018.
This is multicultural infant school, which caters for pupils of varying ability levels and backgrounds. The school caters to a large percentage of EAL pupils and a large percentage of pupils with additional or special educational needs. The school has a very strong leadership team and is well organised. Staff work very well to form a close-knit, team-oriented environment and to create a "family" atmosphere with staff, pupils and parents alike.
The job that has become available, is for a 1:1 support with a Year 1 child with hearing loss. You will be working closely with the Teacher to support the pupil to access the curriculum and make progress through a varied and engaging curriculum. This pupil responds well to a structured environment, where tasks are engaging and interesting.
The right person for this job will have strong communication skills with an ability to adapt and vary their style. This is key in ensuring that the pupil you are supporting is consistently engaged and on task. You will need strong communication skills and be able to work well with the Teacher and other Teaching Assistants to ensure a structured and positive learning environment is maintained.
