Our client is an expanding manufacturing company based in Ashford Kent. Due to an internal promotion, they have a requirement for a Works Manager to take control of the production operations.
The successful applicant will report to the General Manager and hold but not be limited to the following responsibilities:
Oversee and control all the Manufacturing and Production day to day aspects including allocation of work, controlling of labour, provision of stock and dispatching of finished goods.
Establish and manage the training plans for the factory, stores and production control departments, identify needs and arrange and monitor training to achieve full multi-skilling of the workforce and ensure training requirements together with updating the training matrix Working Document.
Oversee, monitor and address all internal production Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and implementing preventive measures to reduce / eliminate these errors, together with assisting the IMS Manager / Quality Engineer with customer complaints as required and implement following through with any corrective actions necessary to systems and procedures.
Understanding and control of internal costing methods and working alongside accounts to ensure accuracy of figures being recorded and reported along with analysis of margins / returns and performance and acting accordingly.
Chair and carry out Production / Manufacturing Meetings., ensuring actions required are included allocated with individuals identified.
Perform annual individual appraisals of all production staff to include, the team leaders, workshop operatives, stores and production control office staff.
Conduct all Disciplinary Interviews and implement actions as necessary up to and including final written warning level.
Oversee and control the stores department ensuring polices and systems are adhered to, reviewed and modified as required.
Oversee, and instigate continuous improvement utilising cost reduction programmes and monitoring production performance throughout manufacturing checking and standardising processes and products for all of product ranges, also set up in conjunction with Technical Department, value analysis exercises with the aim of cost reductions.
Support with Production improvements, Requests for plant, equipment, Manufacturing shop floor layout Suggestions Improvements.
