In this key role at the frontline of our business, you’ll manage a team of processing staff, with overall responsibility of circa 20 staff, ensuring the operation, delivering mail to over 29 million addresses in the UK, is running as efficiently as possible.

About the role

As a Work Area Manager, assuming accountability for operations across the specified work area on the Late Shift at the North West Regional Distribution Centre in Warrington, you’ll lead your team, supporting them through our exciting transformation journey.

Working closely alongside trade union representatives, you’ll ensure your team understands the commercial and competitive market we are in. They’ll need to be customer focussed, open to new technology and flexible to change.

Utilising your first-rate change management experience, you’ll use data analysis to influence and enhance decision making, and be responsible for ensuring the performance of your team, along with effectively maintaining the quality of service for our customers (productivity, automation and employee targets), and guaranteeing the overall safety of the people you manage. 

Furthermore, you will support the Late Shift Manager, and have a strong track record of delivering performance through your personal leadership of large teams in a changing operational environment. Through conducting regular one-to-one and team meetings, alongside analysing your area’s performance data and plans on a daily basis, you will imbed your stakeholder management skills and delivery process knowledge.

Shift Pattern: - Monday to Friday 14:00 – 22:00 with flexibility for meetings as required

About you

It takes more than organisational skills to be a manager. We’re looking for individuals with a passion for people. You’ll provide coaching and advice, while keeping the whole operation running smoothly. With the ability to effectively problem solve in a fast paced operational environment, you’ll also be IT literate and competent in Microsoft programmes. Your experience might be within transport, machine automation, retail, FMCG or logistics, but your ability to motivate, inspire and lead is what we’re looking for.

You’ll have an eye for detail and be confident in efficiently managing resources and budgets – all with a view to ensuring your sector is working at its very best.
