Night Support Worker needed for a new project in Stoke on Trent for a winter shelter for the homeless

Local Housing Association in Stoke on Trent are starting an exciting new project in Burslem for the next 3 months! They are looking for two night support workers to cover a 9 bed homeless shelter for the next 3 months.
Your new role
This position is for two night support workers to run a sheltered church for a variety of vulnerable people who come through the door. Their needs can range from mental health, homeless, substance abuse and challenging behaviour. So because of this you will need experience in dealing with vulnerable adults with complex needs and have a background in support worker- preferably night work.
You will need to be an emphatic person who can be adaptable in difficult, demanding and complex situations with volatile and vulnerable people.
What you'll need to succeed
This role will run from 7pm-7am and you will be required to work Monday- Thursday at a total of 48 hours a week. As part of you duties you will supporting anyone who comes into the shelter by offering:
-one to one support
-helping to signpost to other agencies to help gain accommodation.
-Signposting to any support groups for mental health and substance abuse issues. - signing and booking in customers into the shelter to sleep for the night.
- the shelter will sleep up to 9 people a night
What you'll get in return
This position is as ASAP start and a DBS on the update service is required in order to guarantee start dates. The hourly rate will depend upon experience ranging from £9.50-£10.00 Per Hour depending on pay type.
