Leading Digital design agency with high profile international client base - including major manufacturers and UK government clients (part of larger UK Plc), requires experiences web hosting managed services engineer's due to steady expansion.

Key skills:

Windows Server 2008/2012 + Support

Experience supporting MS based web hosting environments - IIS, MSSQL databases; any cloud experience of interest, especially Azure

Systems Admin with AD and experience using installation and imaging type tools


Strong IIS Configuration

MSSQL Support skills working to configure, optimise, load balance, scale and secure the optimisation thereof.

Experience of logging / systems monitoring solutions - Nagios, New Relic or Splunk or similar

Backup and restore skills

Patch management

Ongoing support for server environments

Nice to haves - Cloud systems expedience - AWS, Cloud Services, any EC2, ELB, Route53, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, AIM VPC and SES all of interest - purely desirable only

Bamboo (Configuration tool)

Any Jenkins or Ansible or similar for automated build (will train)

To suit a good, confident communicator (both written and verbal and in English please) who can effectively work within a team and across a wider business. Degree level candidate with relevant IT tech certification preferred.

The Role:

To join an established managed services team to proactively keep the business operational and client's web applications online. Day to day duties include responding to monitoring alerts and ensuring SLAs are met, executing planned operations and preventive maintenance activities and working closely with the client to keep the systems up and running 24/7. Key skills required will include experience in IIS, MSSQL and PowerShell. Do not apply if not confidant in these areas.

Responsibilities include:

Working on a range of small to enterprise level builds.

Promptly and adequately responds in case of emergency situations, including client communication.

Contribute to the creation and maintenance of new and existing IT infrastructures, including automation.

Participate in all aspects of the project's implementation including deployments, monitoring, alerts, escalation process.

Proactively identifying, communicating and addressing technical risks throughout the delivery process.

Strong windows infrastructure experience.

Windows System Administration as part of 24x7 on-call duties.
