We are recruiting a part time (18.75 hours per week) Wellbeing Advisor, to join the Healthy Knowsley Service within Northwest Borough Healthcare Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The part time post holder can work their hours over 3 days with shift pattern including evening work until 8pm.

The role of Wellbeing Advisor focuses on supporting individuals to access appropriate Lifestyle Services based on an assessment of their needs. This needs assessment is completed via telephone. They will use behaviour change techniques, including brief interventions, to understand the needs of the individual. They will use this needs assessment to assist individuals to access appropriate healthy lifestyle advice and support, empowering them to make positive lifestyle changes. The Wellbeing Advisor is the first point of contact, primarily via telephone, for individuals in Knowsley accessing lifestyle interventions.

The role will also include occasional delivery of community promotional events to raise awareness of the service.

The post holder will be expected to perform the following duties as part of the role:

  • Communicate with individuals about promoting their health and wellbeing.
  • Interact with individuals using the telephone as the main method of communication.
  • Agree courses of action following assessment to address health and wellbeing needs of individuals
  • Advise on access to and use of services
  • Provide information to individuals, groups and communities about promoting health and wellbeing
  • Assess individual preferences and needs
  • Work in partnership with others to prevent the onset of adverse effects on health and wellbeing in populations
  • Willingness and Ability to travel and transport equipment across the borough(s) in a timely manner on a daily basis

The Healthy Knowsley Service includes Wellbeing Coordinators, Coaches and Advisers. Our committed team is dedicated to improving the health of our local communities. This post is subject to an enhanced with children’s and adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50 for an enhanced disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.

IMPORTANT: The role will involve regular travel across multiple sites in the North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust catchment area, including the transportation of equipment. Therefore, the post holder must be able to meet the travel requirements of this post. Please indicate on your application how you meet this requirement.
