We are looking to appoint a Welfare Support Advisor, on a permanent basis to provide specialist debt and benefit advice to the residents of South Tyneside.
The person will have experience of dealing with complex debt and welfare benefit cases, maximising income, and knowledge of how Welfare Reform affects both residents and the organisation. Ideally you will be a member of the Institute of Money Advisors and have a Certificate in Money Advice Practice
The person we are looking for will be a team player, able to apply their skills effectively, who have commitment and are enthusiastic and passionate about delivering excellent customer service and supporting colleagues in their day to day duties. This is a busy front line service where you will work towards both individual and team targets.
This position will be based at South Shields Town Hall, however there is also a requirement to deliver outreach sessions once a week in your individual area. You must be flexible and prepared to carry out home visits and travel to various locations to speak to customers where required so access to a car is essential.
