Creative Support is a national not for profit organisation providing housing and support to individuals with a wide range of needs. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Client Finance Officer to our Housing and Welfare Rights Team based in Stockport.

The Housing and Welfare Rights Team provide a warm, friendly and responsive service to all clients supported by Creative Support offering support and guidance to clients, staff and partner agencies on matters relating to tenancies, housing law, welfare benefits advice and budgeting.

Client Finance Officers are warm, empathetic people with a passion for helping vulnerable adults improve and maintain their quality of life through the effective maximisation of benefits and budgeting skills. You will be warm, positive and accountable with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with clients, staff, families and partner agencies.

You will have an interest in financial inclusion and specifically the DWP benefit systems. You will have some knowledge of the benefits system and the current welfare reform and its potential impact on vulnerable adults. You will need to be self-motivated with a keen interest in rules and regulations and how we can use this knowledge for the benefit of our clients.

You will be responsible for a caseload of appointeeships, managing the benefit claims and budgeting for a number of vulnerable adults who do not have capacity to do this for themselves. You should be motivated, organised and able to meet deadlines. You will be friendly, approachable and confident and able to communicate clearly with clients, staff and other partner agencies. You should not be averse to dealing with sometimes challenging and / or emotional cases and will demonstrate professionalism and empathy as necessary.
