We are in the market for experienced welders to join a leading Engineering company within the Aerospace sector.

Welding capabilities: titanium, aluminium, stainless steel, high-temperature metals. Good attitude, ability to grow and take responsibilities. Experience of working to tight tolerances and thin gauge material, typically 0.3 mm to 2.0 mm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate all types of welding equipment, including TIG (tungsten inert gas), MIG (metal inert gas), spot and seam
  • Operate a number of different machines and equipment including: hand tools, slitting, grinding, drilling, tensile testing, pressure testing, non-destructive testing
  • Carry out safety checks and preventative maintenance
  • Follow procedures, data entry and record keeping
  • Handling and movement of goods throughout the factory
  • Housekeeping within work area

Person specification:

  • To understand the importance of Health & Safety
  • To have an appreciation of the importance of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and technical specifications
  • To be physically fit and active, with the ability to stand for long periods of time and to carry heavy objects within safety limits
  • Demonstrates a high standard of punctuality, attendance and work ethic
  • The attitude and desire to succeed
  • Ability to train others in roles and responsibility
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently

Desirable Skills Are:

  • Has previous assembly/manufacturing experience, ideally within similar industry background to MSM.
  • Can demonstrate a knowledge of Aerospace
  • Manufacturing Techniques
  • Experience and good working knowledge of ISO/AS9100/EASA Part 145 quality systems
  • Ability to use hand held measurement equipment including height gauges and Vernier's
  • Ability to prioritise workload

Package on Offer

  • Hours of work are 07.15 - 17.00 Monday to Thursday (30 mins unpaid lunch)
  • Friday is Overtime (Paid at normal rate until completion of probation period)
