Detailed Job Description:

We are looking for a technically savvy and resourceful apprentice to join the innovative and exciting world of software and web development.

As a Level 3 Software Developer Apprentice, you will be undertaking a recognised apprenticeship qualification including Microsoft certifications, at the same time as working as part of the companys software development team.

Youll work as part of the team to learn about the latest technologies the company uses to deliver what they need. You will be assisting with projects and gaining on the job knowledge whilst gaining a qualification.

The role will start with a wide remit covering web design with an element of website management. This will be reviewed periodically to ensure that you are happy with the main duties laid out, and as the company grow your duties may change. This will be primarily down to how you wish to grow within the company and what our client requirements are. The position will involve working on current web projects, liaising with the customer and attending meetings to discuss the design of the website. You will also be responsible for web amendments and faults. These faults could be website issues and you may need to speak to a 3rd party regarding coding or development.

As the business has already experienced rapid growth, there is a requirement for documentation to be collated and kept up to date, so administration and keeping tickets up to date as well as filing emails is a must.

As a Microsoft Software Developer Apprentice your main role and responsibilities will include:

Web design

Graphic design including work on Illustrator and Photoshop

Creating social media templates and graphics

Website support and admin

Adding new test sites and any fixes or admin that needs to be done in the cPanel

Updating clients with progress of amendments or projects

Filing emails in the correct client folder in Outlook

Maintaining a high level of customer service

Answering 1st line support calls when other team members unavailable

Administration of the web team and support inbox

Helping with webservers and liaising with the server centre for any webserver problems

Project management and dealing with specialist projects for websites

Supporting the Operations Manager and team with any other duties relating to the department or role.

Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will receive Microsoft training and accreditation through blended learning. This combines online technical training within a virtual classroom, as well as real-world and practical experience with your employer. The certifications you gain are highly respected and globally recognised. The skills, knowledge and experience you will gain whilst on the programme are invaluable, giving you the best possible start to your professional career within the IT industry.
