Waste Officer Band 5. Up to 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Estates and Facilities team, to assist the Trust in implementing the strategic NHSI 10 year plan for the management of clinical waste across the healthcare sector.
The Waste Officer role will cover all the properties within the Trust’s portfolio, including acute and community hospitals. The Waste Officer role is 37.5 hours per week, based at West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven (WCH) but will be expected to work at other locations.
Reporting to the Estates Officer – Specialist Services, the Waste Officer will provide technical guidance and support to the directorate, wards and departments.
The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.
Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:
Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.
Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
