£8.95 per hour + 25% shift allowance

Local organisation based in Bury St Edmunds are seeking a Warehouse Operative with a forklift license to join their team on a permanent basis.

You will need a current and up to date Forklift License! Please do not apply if you do not have this.

You will be working double days (6am - 2pm one week, 2pm - 10pm the following week and so on)

You will be responsible for:

Allocated machinery, area or process required for the store, manufacture and supply of products from raw materials to finished packaging and distribution
Responsible for a variety of aspects in the food production and distribution processes, including: material handling, equipment operation (filling, labelling, packing) process monitoring quality control, warehousing, and various support activities including associated recording and IT processes
Completing agreed safety, quality checks etc.
Actively maintain material quality, food hygiene and maximize yield, minimize negative variance
Responsible for delivering a clean workplace including all areas of the factory, warehouse, workstations, equipment, walkways and locker rooms
Effectively maintaining the stock management system
Receiving and storing raw materials aligned with standard operating procedures, supplier guidelines or site technical to maintain product quality
Minimising waiting time of all vehicles delivering/collecting material/products to/from site
Identifying all batch lot controlled materials with system generated lot labels/tickets
Participating in stock checks and maintaining accurate stock control i.e. location, quantity
Releasing and generating works orders documentation for production works orders in a timely manner to pick materials
Identifying and communicating potential material shortages to reduce risk of production downtime
Physically picking, marshalling and system issuing materials to/from works orders
Picking materials for production operating a first in first out policy in conjunction with stock maintenance system generated reports.

To be successful in your application you will have previous relevant experience along with a valid Reach and Counter balance Fork Lift Licence. You will have knowledge of health and safety along with good mechanical skills. You will ideally have a power pedestrian truck licence although this is not essential.
