We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Ward Receptionist/Administrator to join our Acute Admissions & Urgent Care Centre based at our facility in St John's Wood, London (NW8 9LE). Our Acute Admissions Unit is an instant, clinical referral system for patients who require an urgent, general medical or surgical consultant review. Within the unit our Urgent Care provides immediate private care with no appointment needed for injuries and illnesses that are urgent but not life threatening.

Job Description

The Ward Receptionist will provide a reception/administrative service to support the department to deliver a high quality service to clients. • Job Type: Full-time, permanent post. • Hours/Shifts: 37.5 hours per week. Working either 7am – 3pm or 3pm – 11pm; Monday to Sunday (5 days out of 7). You would be expected to work a mixture of early and late shifts, including weekends. • Salary: £18,310 - £22,421 (dependent on candidate experience). • Benefits: Private pension, private medical cover, structured career development and much more.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Meet and greet patients, visitors, consultants and staff and deal with their enquiries. • Register patients on Meditech system, informing nursing staff/doctors of admission. • Make bookings for consultant appointments and clinical investigations as directed by clinical staff. • Ensure the patients receive the relevant admission paperwork as well as explaining the self-pay process. • Enter charges on to computer system, present bill and obtain payment from UCC patients/ escorts. • Answer telephone enquiries and deal with account enquiries with assistance of nurse in charge. • Monitor stationary stock levels and order as required maintaining pre-determined stock levels. • Undertake secretarial duties as required by unit.

Skills & Experience

• Previous receptionist and/or administration experience, ideally within the hospital ward environment. • Knowledge of relevant hospital policies & procedures would be advantageous. • Excellent communication skills with strong customer care skills. • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise an ever-changing workload, which is often busy and varied.
