An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated person to join the team on F4 Day Case Unit at St Lukes Hospital. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic individual to complement our existing multi-disciplinary team on this busy intravenous infusion centre.

Brief Description of the Role:

This is a dual post in the provision Health care assistant duties whilst also providing cover for clerical and administrative support to the ward when the regular ward clerk is on leave. As a Health care assistant you will assist individual patients with elements of basic nursing care and the implementation of programmes of care under the direction of a registered nurse and contribute to the ongoing support of patients and their relatives. Whilst providing cover for the ward clerk, but also as part of your Health care assistant duties, you will be answering telephone enquiries, using the EPR system, communicating with the ward team, patients and relatives and have the ability to work on one’s own initiative. Both the Health care assistant and ward clerk roles are important and integral parts of the team and the post holder must have the ability to manage their workload efficiently and effectively.

Summary of most important Experience/Skills/Qualifications required:

Experience within an NHS environment.

Experience of working in a care setting

Experience with EPR / NHS IT systems

Appropriate literacy/numeric skills (to GCSE standard or equivalent).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organisational skills.

The ability to work flexibly to cover the needs of the service.
