Job Title: Waking Nights Support Worker

Location: Burnley

Contract: Full-time or Part-time

Hours: Up to 39 hours per week

Salary: £8.75 per hour.

Information: Driver with a full, clean UK driving license, is essential.

What does a Support Worker do?

We need Support Workers in the Burnley area to make our vision a reality. The role of a Support Worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Supporting someone with a learning disability isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more.

You will be supporting twin brothers, wo have autism and a learning disability, on a one-to-one basis in their own home in Burnley.

The brothers are well- known in the local community and are a delight to support with all aspects their life. Considering that they are twins, they are complete opposites in personality and each day can be so different!

You will be required to support and maintain night-time routines, including prompting personal care.

Part of this role will involve maintaining the household by fulfilling cleaning and maintenance rotas, as well as health and safety checks to ensure compliance is met.

What experience do I need?

You don’t need to have worked in supported living before to be a good Support Worker. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you.

The brothers can have episodes of behaviours that challenge, so a consistent approach to support is required, however, a full induction will be given and support from the existing team.

You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.
