Waking Night Staff (4 on, 4 off shift pattern)

Discover a key role at an exceptional Children’s Home: Waking Night Staff. If one of our home’s young person or child wakes up during the night, you’ll be there to check that everything’s alright. To do your best, you’ll need to build good relationships with our young people and be fully supported onsite by sleeping in staff, who will be on hand to assist if needed during the night. Through the night our Waking Night Staff keep administration up to date and the home clean and tidy.

Ideally, you’ll have experience in a similar role. However, we welcome applications from people with other backgrounds. With our specialist training and supportive team, you’ll soon be a skilled professional, as long as you’re calm in a crisis, resilient and committed to first-class care. If you’re a natural night owl, have a full UK driving licence, happy working flexible shifts and ready to work towards and achieve an Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) (if you don’t have this or an equivalent already). We’d like to hear from you.

This is a detached house situated within its own gardens in Low Bentham, Lancaster. The home is a specialised 52 week children’s home that offers high quality options and outcomes for young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviours. Our staff team are dedicated and experienced and our young people live in a warm, friendly, familiar environment with a high ratio of staff. The home can accommodate up to eight young people ranging in age, both male and female. We provide a stable, holistic and nurturing home environment for our young people.
