WAKING NIGHT NANNY/PARENT HELPER

Speldhurst, Kent

£12.00 - £14.00 per hour

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Nanny/Parent Helper to work directly with one of our clients in their non-smoking home, with the focus on providing highly individualised support and personal care. Working with a family in Speldhurst, Kent, you will be supporting a 4-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy, Dystonia and no suck or swallow, providing personal care and attending to his needs.

Part of your role will be to ensure that he is kept safe at night whilst sleeping, you will need to support with suctioning, and peg feeding (training can be provided although our ideal candidate would have these skills) and drawing and administrating medication as per the MAR sheet.

As well as providing ongoing care, you will also be supporting the family and playing an important part in promoting his happy nature and character. Our client enjoys being read stories, listening to music, singing and nursery rhymes.

The hourly rates of pay are as follows:-

Monday - Friday £12.00

Saturday - Sunday £14.00

Bank Holidays £24.00

The following shifts are available:

Week 1:

Tuesday: 19:30 - 07:45

Friday: 19:30 - 07:45

Saturday: 19:30 - 07:45

Week 2:

Tuesday: 19:30 - 07:45

Thursday: 19:30 - 07:45

Saturday: 19:30 - 07:45

With additional shifts being available to cover holiday and sickness throughout the year.

Experience and qualities required of the roles include:

  • You will ideally be an experienced Nanny/Parent Helper, possibly with NVQ Health & Social Care.
  • Excellent communication skills and an understanding of necessary family needs
  • Good standard of written and spoken English are essential. Experience of managing a complex needs client an advantage.
  • Excellent observation skills & a high level of competency are essential. Time spent working with young people or children would be an advantage.
  • Experience of peg feeding and suctioning is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
