Visitor Experience Assistant

Posted 6 February by National Trust

Do you love working with people from all ages and backgrounds? Come and work with a great team, in a beautiful location. With engaging stories to tell, there’s always something to share with our visitors, and it will be your job to make sure we’re doing that all year round.

What it's like to work here

Visitors flock to this quirky 13th century abbey to enjoy the museum dedicated to photographic pioneer William Henry Fox Talbot. Outdoor theatre, photography exhibitions and family trails are among the innovative events run by the 40 staff members and local volunteers, making for a lively and fun visitor experience. It’s likely you will need your own transport to get here, however this is a great opportunity to join a welcoming team and contribute to an exciting programme of events.

What you'll be doing

As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. As the Visitor Experience Assistant, it’s your role to help plan and deliver amazing events at Lacock. The role is primarily based behind the scenes, ensuring our signage is clear and helpful across the whole site, and our interpretation and events are engaging and enjoyable for our visitors.

Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’ll make sure every aspect of our events and programming links back to our cause and the on-going work we do.

You’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, including the posters and signs around the property.
