As part of a multidisciplinary media, campaigns and marketing communications team, you will create and develop engaging multimedia content for our external and internal audiences that supports delivery of our corporate strategy. This includes short-form videos for social media, for our website and for or from events, as part of integrated external and internal communication campaigns,.
The role covers the full production process, from establishing needs by consulting with internal teams, to scripting, storyboarding, shooting and post-production, so you need to have demonstrable experience with all of these.
You understand the importance of not only using video on social media platforms to widen our reach, but also in showing the human side of our organisation and getting our messages across in an engaging way.
As part of your application you should submit an online portfolio of work (Vimeo or other platform).

1 Work closely with internal teams to understand their and their audiences’ communication needs, and script, storyboard and produce videos or animations to address these needs efficiently and effectively, occasionally requiring a short turnaround.
2 Develop production and post-production schedules, including planning video shoots, recruiting actors/participants, identifying and reserving optimal shoot locations, and
booking/allocating the resources and equipment necessary for the shoot and for post-production.
3 Record and edit video and audio projects, including operating cameras, sound and lighting equipment, selecting appropriate recording and output formats, capturing/importing media, editing footage and audio files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, voiceover and/or sound effects.
4 Help people appearing in our videos, who may be out of their comfort zone and feel self-conscious, to feel confident and relaxed on camera to make sure our content is engaging and effective.
5 Support the wider communications team with advice and training on shooting and post-producing video and producing audio podcasts, and/or collaborate with them on production projects they are managing.
6 Lead on the gathering and evaluation of video and multimedia usage analytics, and contribute to informing communication strategies and continuous improvement in multimedia production on the basis of findings.

a Extensive experience of producing short form videos and animations for online distribution.
b Strong audience awareness and ability to tailor video and multimedia products to the specific requirements of different audiences and channels.
c Ability to use and manage different types of video and audio recording equipment, including professional cameras, camcorders, microphones and lighting.
d Experience in post-production, including video and audio editing, still and motion graphic design and video compression for different delivery platforms, supported by advanced skills in using professional video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition in particular).
e Experience of using social media to promote video content to a wide audience.
f Knowledge of best practice in video production for digital distribution, including awareness of accessibility issues and issues relating to privacy and consent.
g Understanding of the latest algorithms on social and other platforms to make sure our video content maximises opportunities.
h Experience in the use of web content management systems to upload videos to website is desirable.
