An experienced Veterinary Consultant with experience with ruminants is needed to join our team at Zoetis, the world's leading animal health company based in the South, on a full-time, contractual basis.

This field-based position aims to provide scientific and technical support to our customers on the health, diagnostics and disease control for cattle and sheep. 

This role will cover Wales and the south of England, with regular travel across this region and occasional foreign travel. A valid driving licence is required.

About the Role 

The person in the role must work closely with Account Managers (AM), using their veterinary expertise to support the delivery of sales growth and market share gains. The successful candidate will support vets in practice by providing technical advice and product training and following up on pharmacovigilance cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align activities to the AMs account plans, to relevant marketing programmes and to management direction
  • Plan and implement the Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) management activities 
  • Work with the AM to deliver bespoke customer solutions utilising all available resources, including value add services and Product Managers
  • Develop mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with our customers based on veterinary expertise, respect & reputation
  • Offer support, training and coaching to AMs and colleagues in the business unit who shares your expertise and add value to our customers
  • Grow the customer's product usage using technical and business knowledge
  • Use practice data to tailor our programmes for customers
  • Undertake diagnostic support
  • Support specific customers in association with AMs to provide a constant flow of information to the customer. 
  • Use veterinary expertise to better inform customers of products
  • Identify opportunities to use expertise to affect a commercial gain
  • Maintain a high level of expertise with the evolving portfolio of products, services, pricing and competition
  • Maintain high standards of business conduct and compliance, adhering particularly to Pharmacovigilance Policy, Global Vet Policy, Zoetis values, travel & expenses policy and local codes of practice
  • Act in cooperation with AMs to keep accurate records of customer activity

Required Skills: 

  • Ability to retain and recall technical information to a detailed level on products and diseases
  • Translation of technical information into clear concepts
  • Strong service orientation 
  • Relationship and stakeholder management
  • Ensure your knowledge is accurate, detailed and extensive

Required Experience: 

  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and RCVS Registered
  • Certificate of specialisation in a relevant disease management or animal health area is beneficial
  • Experience as a large animal Veterinary Practitioner
