An interesting position has become available for a qualified Vehicle Technician with a full UK driving licence to work with an important company who are market leaders in their field and respected and renowned on a global scale. Working on a temp to perm basis this is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well established and interesting company.
Overall objective of the role:
*To build specialist vehicles for Company Fleet customers to the agreed specifications
*Carrying out routine servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs within stipulated timescales.
*Assist with the preparation of the Demo Fleet
*Warranty work in line with the agreed warrant y process and ensure that all work carried out on the vehicles is to the highest standard.
Key Result Areas
*To build specialist vehicles for Fleet customers to the agreed specifications and to the highest standards.
*Ensure that all warranty work is completed as per the Company Warranty process, including all Job Cards etc.
*Servicing and testing of vehicles in line with Company standards and diagnosing faults as and when necessary.
*Assisting with recover of damaged or defective vehicles as needed.
*Ensuring that vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers or that faults have been reported and noted on the job card.
*On occasion to provide valeting services to any vehicles as requested by the line manager
*Ensure that any Health & Safety issues are reported to the Health & Safety MSVO member or Line Manager
Provide excellent customer service by ensuring that:
(i)Vehicles are protected with appropriate covers and dust sheets etc. ensuring that accidental damage is prevented
(ii)All vehicles and their contents are safeguarded whilst repairs / services are being carried out
(iii)All work is carried out to MOT and/or manufacturers safety standards
You will also be responsible for increasing profitability by ensuring that:
(i)Manufacturers servicing and repair times are achieved and that all hours and material usage are accurately recorded
(ii)All future faults and servicing requirements for vehicles are reported
(iii)That all components, materials and consumables used are reported
(iv)Wastage of all materials, oils and fluids is minimised
(v)All plant and tools belonging to the company are looked after and not misused
Health & Safety at Work
You are required to familiarise yourself with the Company's health, safety and environmental policies and procedures and to adhere to its rules at all times. You must take all reasonable care to protect the safety of yourself and others whilst at work.
Essential Technical / Professional Training & Qualifications
*Previous experience of motor vehicle service and repairs and a good understanding of vehicle electrics
*City & Guilds part 1 and 2 in Motor vehicle engineering/maintenance or equivalent
*NVQ Level 3 in Motor vehicle engineering/maintenance or equivalent
The following would be an advantage but not essential
*BTEC/ equivalent in Motor vehicle engineering/maintenance
*City & Guilds part 3 in Motor vehicle engineering/maintenance
