The Opportunity: 

An opportunity has arisen for a Valuation Governance Analyst to join our Data Management team. The purpose of this role is to support the Valuation Governance and Analysis Manager in delivering the business and regulatory valuation requirements.

The team: 

Data Management supports the business in strategic programmes and meeting the requirements of regulatory change. In addition Data Management strives to deliver high quality and robust investment valuations to the business, client and regulator during a time of increasing demands and focus in this area.

Valuation Governance is fundamental to ensuring the valuations used for Fund Management; Compliance and Reporting purposes are accurate and independent.   Valuation analysis is vital for providing support to recommendations and decisions made by the Valuation Governance & Analysis capability on behalf of several M&G forums  (e.g. Fair Value Committee or Fund Value Adjustment committee) ensuring the valuations used for Fund Management; Compliance and Reporting purposes are accurate and independent. 

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

Supporting the Valuation Governance and Analysis Manager in completing the valuation documentation required within the timescales stipulated.

  • Deputise for the Valuation Governance and Analysis Manager at meetings and take the lead on actions generated.
  • Assist in governing the valuation processes that exist today and suggesting requirements for change.
  • Assist in monitoring the markets in order to build expectations of how you would expect internal portfolios to move.
  • Assist in creating increased transparency across the Valuation Capabilities within DMT by working with peers to explore new initiatives and ideas.
  • Assist in the creation of MI in order to monitor the valuation processes and to provide to key stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

You will have worked closely with Front and Middle Office functions, specifically Performance, Risk, Compliance, Dealing Desk and Investment Professionals. As well as this, you will be experienced in working with internal and external auditors. A good knowledge of Market trends is key, you will need to understand the factors that can affect the price of an asset. You will also have an awareness of current regulations with valuation impact.
