Upholstery Area Service Manager- South East - £35,000 - £38,000

My client is a highly successful Upholstery and Furniture Manufacturer & Furniture Repair Service provider covering the whole of the UK and Ireland. They currently seek to appoint an experienced Upholsterer & Furniture Technician Area Service Manager to help lead their field-based Upholstery & Furniture Repair operation in the South East. As the appointed Upholstery & Furniture Service Area Manager, you will organise the Service Upholsterer repair team within you’re given territory, asses Upholstery and Furniture repairs, performance of field technicians, identify training needs amongst your team, provide training as required and manage service manager diary’s and the scheduling of work .

Upholstery Area Service Manager duties & responsibilities:

  • Review of Furniture Technicians reports to ensure best practices are followed always
  • Monitor and manage all performance reports and feedback to the Upholstery Service Managers any issues or causes for concern
  • Work scheduling and diary management of technicians
  • Encouraging Upholstery Service Managers to coach the team and co-ordinate training and development for technicians to ensure that work is completed as efficiently as possible
  • Play an active role in identifying and initiating training initiatives
  • Providing technical advice to Furniture Technician queries
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal departments
  • Supporting the HR department and Upholstery Managers in recruitment of technicians
  • To represent the Technical Team at meetings with current and potential business partners
  • To occasionally work away from home/region when required
  • To carry out Upholstery & Furniture repairs as a service manager

Upholstery Area Service Manager experience:

  • Previous experience working as an upholstery service technician (ESSENTIAL)
  • The ability to demonstrate to a high standard a range of technical competencies
  • Ability to analyse and interpret Service Technician reports and management information
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office (WORD and Excel)
  • Upholstery & furniture repair training management
