About us

Avencia are partnered with a leading insurer who are looking to recruit a New Business Underwriter. They are open to location, as the team is mostly remote with occasional office visits required.

The role is based within their Care Sales team, focusing on a broad spectrum of Care and Social Welfare policies. It's an excellent opportunity to join a successful national team.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and promote knowledge of company guidelines and authority levels to meet business targets.
  • Deliver excellent service to brokers, ensuring deadlines are achieved.
  • Underwrite varied risks within set authority.
  • Contribute to underwriting meetings with insights on developments, trends and market conditions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the wider business.

Skills & experience

  • Proven underwriting experience (ideally social welfare/care risks; commercial insurance considered).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Successful track record of developing broker relationships.
  • Proficient in IT, including MS Office and broker e-trading platforms.
  • Ability to win business while upholding underwriting discipline.
