UI Designer

UI Designer / Digital Designer / Web Designer / Designer / Website Designer

We are looking for a talented UI Designer to create web page layouts, user interfaces, brand and graphical assets. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean design and the ability to translate high-level requirements into functional designs. We value designers who are proactive with a real passion for user needs.

Use your prolific design skills to bring new and exciting websites to life.

The Digital Design Team

The design team design a unique set of bespoke web assets which have contributed to my client being recently recognised as the UK's Fastest Growing Tech Firm. They support all departments throughout the business in delivering their world class services and adding massive value for all their customers.

Responsibilities of the UI Designer:

Collaborate with other Designers, UX Architects, Product Managers, Engineering and key stakeholders to define and implement solutions to complex design problems

  • Create engaging web page layouts in line with branding guidelines. Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  • Create graphical assets such as icons and infographics
  • Contribute to the creation of brand identities and guidelines
  • Present designs and key deliverables to peers and other stakeholders
  • Establish and promote design guidelines and best practices
  • Work effectively within our Agile environment

Experience of the UI Designer:

  • Has demonstrable web design and typography chops with a strong, diverse portfolio containing at least 5 examples relevant to this role (not just pretty pictures on Dribbble)
  • Is highly skilled in industry standard design applications (Adobe CS, Sketch etc.)
  • Can effectively communicate ideas with low fidelity sketches (you don’t fall in love with your first idea and you are keen to explore a problem from different angles)
  • Although no coding will be required, has a good understanding of what is technically feasible (you don’t design developers into a corner)
  • Has a good understanding of current UX best practices (you don’t create complex navigation for the sake of being different)
  • Leads the way by identifying and sharing the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies and their potential value to the business (you don’t use parallax scrolling just because it looks cool)
  • Is familiar with Accessibility best practices (i.e you don’t use lime green text on a white background because it looks cool)

  • 25 Internal Training modules that run every quarter
  • Unlimited book allowance and access to fully stocked library
  • Annual trips to Ibiza upon hitting company targets - they’re going in May 2017!
