Development Scientist - UHV / Thin Film - Oxfordshire - U/IM287
Salary / benefits: c£30-40k+ dependent upon experience.

Owing to continued successful growth, a leading provider of UHV Instrumentation is now looking for an additional Development Scientist to join their Oxfordshire site.
Working within the R&D Team, you will be responsible for the development of new and existing thin film deposition and UHV products.
Working in a small team, this is very much a hands on role, where you will be involved in the build and test of prototype equipment.
The role requires a strong understanding of the physics behind UHV / HV and thin film technologies.
You will be required to develop new methods and instrumentation for deposition applications; and also identify continuous improvements of existing methods and instrumentation.
To support the new and improved methods, you will prepare technical reports and scientific papers for the dissemination of your results.
In addition, you will provide technical support to the Sales, Engineering, Production and Customer Support Teams.
Essential to this role, is experience with vacuum deposition techniques and the development of UHV instrumentation.
You will be a strong creative thinker who is able to solve problems.
Working within a team and also solo, you should be able to run your own projects with minimal supervision.
Having worked within the commercial environment, you will have strong commercial awareness and be comfortable liaising directly with customers.
As the successful candidate you will hold a PhD or equivalent in Physics or Engineering, and have experience working with UHV equipment.
Candidates who have worked in a commercial product development role will be given preference.
Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the UK. Copies of Passport and Visas will be requested for verification.
