The UAT Lead will manage and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT)/Business Acceptance testing for all new functionality/changes being delivered to the TUI UK & Ireland websites and selling systems. The individual will work alongside Project Managers, Developers, Delivery Managers, IT Test Managers and Testers, and Release Management to ensure all changes introduced meet business requirements and impact to customers/business is mitigated when deployed into the live sites/systems.
The UAT Lead will have ownership of required UAT coverage, either manual or through automation, based on gathered requirements, as well as input from key stakeholders and teams within the business.
At TUI UK & Ireland our sites are our biggest sales channel with millions of visitors coming to our site and over £1 billion worth of sales being processed through the site. We need to continuously improve our site to benefit the online customer experience and conversion.
What you will be doing
As a User Acceptance/Business Acceptance Test Lead you will lead a small team and will be responsible for managing and conducting UAT/Business testing across a wide range for changes being driven from the Product Owners within the BAU development teams as well as projects being driven from various areas within the business. This includes owning and managing resource and test planning; execution and reporting to all stakeholders on progress, ensuring that defects/issues are prioritised and scheduled for delivery.
The User Acceptance/Business Acceptance Test Lead will work very closely with all Cruise & Distribution teams, as well as other divisions including IT to ensure that sufficient coverage is being provided on changes being delivered. Your main focus will be on ensuring the business requirements are being met as well as that changes being delivered will not impact the overall user experience. You will oversee the creation of test cases and execution, ensure test environments are viable and data within meets test requirements, keep the BAT Manager abreast of test status across streams, and understand the source of defects in order to ensure they’re assigned to the relevant application/DB project lead. You will need to understand the impact of any defect delivered to production and use this to determine the priority of any defect, based on business compromise. You will ensure during sign-off of functionality that business stakeholders fully understand any risk and associated mitigation.
As a Project Manager/Product Owner/Business Sponsor defines what change is required; the UAT lead should define how they will validate the changes have been met as well as defining whether additional testing coverage is required from other areas of the business. Responsibilities will include ensuring the Digital Operations and Services teams are updated on all deliverables and any defects agreed to go live, so that actions can be taken to mitigate any risks. You will input into the improvement and implementation of tailored testing methods from planning through to sign off, and own the projects and provide adequate visibility on their progress.
