Trusts and Foundations Manager

We are working with an award winning and truly inspiring charity to recruit a talented fundraiser. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with donors and funders from charitable trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies with a focus on small to medium sized funders up to 30,000.


The Charity
An inspirational charity, looking after children and young people aged from birth to 19 years old who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. The charity has won numerous awards and been shortlisted for many more, competing against national charities, due to a very passionate and successful fundraising team who are encouraged to be innovative and bring new ideas to a table. The charity has a flat structure and the Director of Fundraising and CEO have an open-door policy where creativity and sharing ideas is actively encouraged.

The Role
To be responsible for managing and developing relationships with donors and funders from charitable trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies to raise c500,000 PA. This role will focus on small to medium sized funders up to 30,000. The post holder will also work closely with the Philanthropy Manager generally and on applications to major funders (50,000 +).

In conjunction with colleagues across the organisation develop and implement an annual plan for Trusts, Grants and Foundations to ensure a coherent and cohesive approach to funding needs. This includes revenue and capital applications.
To create in conjunction with the Philanthropy Manaker a two year, rolling pipeline of applications to Trusts with a reporting schedule. This should total approx. three times the budget line for trust income stream.
Carry out mid and end of grant monitoring reports in addition to other assessments and returns, to ensure funders receive the relevant data and financial information they require.
To develop a thorough understanding of the work of the charity in order to write compelling applications and case studies for different audiences.
To package hospice services and activities to create attractive projects for funders.
Research new trusts, foundations, and corporate foundations to approach.

The Candidate
Experience of at least one of the following fundraising, new business development, bid writing or corporate social responsibility.
Knowledge of the Trusts and Foundations sector.
Proven track record of delivering on targets.
Experience in writing high quality, compelling proposals, applications and reports.
Experience in producing detailed prospect research on Trusts and Foundations to facilitate decision making on priority applications.
Proven success in securing lucrative partnerships of 5,000 upwards.
Experience in managing a pipeline and budget for Trusts and Foundations.
