Trustees required for Advocacy Service

BATIAS supports people with learning disabilities and offers different types of advocacy. We work with vulnerable people, enabling them to become active citizens, and developing the client’s life opportunities.
We are currently looking for new trustees to join our board, our Trustees are volunteers who give their time to ensure that BATIAS meets its charitable purpose: safely and legally. As a member of the Board of Trustees, you will be involved in making some of the most important decisions about how BATIAS is run. The Board of Trustees also ensures that the best quality support is given to all of our Clients though our services.

Like many charities BATIAS is facing funding cuts and has had to make some difficult decisions in the past 2 years, we are now looking to re-develop our services and are looking at alternative funding options to take BATIAS into a more financially secure future.

We are looking for people who have:
 
Good communication skills and being able to work as part of a team An understanding of the voluntary sector or volunteer experience Professional, management or business experience would be beneficial A commitment to improve the lives of vulnerable people
 
What difference will you make?
By supporting BATIAS, you can help us to continue to support over 400 people with learning disabilities every year, through our advocacy projects.
The Charity works with some of society’s most vulnerable people, enabling them to become active citizens, promoting positive social inclusion in the local community and developing the client’s social networks and life opportunities.
