Trustee wanted - help us champion wildlife

Posted 31 January by The Big Give Ended
The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside is your local wildlife charity, working to protect wildlife and nature for the future. We are a key voice for nature, both locally and nationally. We manage reserves, deliver specialist projects and have a people and wildlife team engaging people in sustainable living and conservation from the very young to the retired.
Help us celebrate and champion wildlife!
We are looking for new trustees for appointment at the AGM in October 2018.
The Lancashire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’S leading Wildlife Trusts in community work. We champion the interconnection between people and wildlife. We are searching for two new trustees, from all backgrounds and communities but are particularly keen to enhance Board expertise in the education or health sectors.
Being a trustee is a rewarding experience. You would be joining a welcoming group of trustees and you will add to your own skills and experience, particularly in strategy and management. You can read more about our current trustees here
Trustees – who must be members of the Trust - serve for an initial period of three years with opportunities thereafter for reappointment. The current Board is 17 strong and meets quarterly, usually on a Thursday evening, at the Trust HQ in Bamber Bridge. The trustee role is voluntary.
More information on the role and responsibility of a Trustee can be found in the attached role description below. Trustees must be members of the Trust and the post is a voluntary one.
Tenure: Trustees serve for an initial period of three calendar years, with opportunities for reappointment. The maximum term of appointment is generally nine years, unless a further appointment is in the best interests of the charity.
