Music in Hospitals & Care is a long-standing national charity with a mission, broadly, to raise the spirits, reduce distress and suffering, and to bring pleasure to sick and vulnerable adults, children, and their families, through the therapeutic benefits of high quality live music performed by professional musicians. The Charity is now looking to recruit people to the Board of Trustees who have a background as Company Secretary, Legal and HR professionals.
The Trustees’ role is to provide appropriate governance, set the charity’s strategic direction and to provide guidance, advice and support in the delivery of the Charitable Objects.
In order to maintain the right balance of skills and experience, the Trustees are especially keen for applications from those with Company Secretary Legal and HR backgrounds who have previous or current experience in those professional roles.
The Trustees welcome applications from people across the UK with relevant expertise and experience who will also have a passion for the healthcare charitable sector, an interest in committee work and a willingness to get involved in delivering live music for the benefit of vulnerable adults and children in healthcare.
Ordinarily there are 3 meetings of the full Board of Trustees annually which tend to take place in London or Edinburgh. For those who are able to commit more time, there is some additional committee work outside of the formal Board meetings.
This is an unremunerated voluntary position although reasonable expenses are paid.
Applications from people with protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 are particularly welcome.
The closing date for applications is Friday 6th April 2018.
It is expected that interviews for short-listed candidates will take place in London on Wednesday 18th April 2018.
