Trust Fellow in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery (ST7+)

We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team.

This post is available to commence on the 01st of October 2020 initially for 6 months.

This 6 month post offers a rare and exciting opportunity to gain laparoscopic, robotic, advanced endoscopic and Complex abdominal wall operative skills and experience. While normally offered within the envelope of the Northern Laparoscopic Multiregional Fellowship Programme the withdrawal of a candidate has created a rare gap for the appropriate candidate. This fellowship has successfully trained laparoscopic and abdominal wall specialty consultants for over a decade within the National Fellowship programme and has been universally successful in helping subsequent consultant appointment. As well as high volume and meticulous training the unit prides itself in a high standard of pastoral care. To benefit from this opportunity the successful applicant will be ST7 or more senior and will have passed their final FRCS examination or equivalent. They will be fully registered and be eligible for appointment within the UK. Entry onto the specialist register will be desirable. The appointee will have a flexible remit and we will be able to tailor their training to maximise their benefit from the specialties outlined above. At a minimum the appointee will have one full theatre day weekly, an endoscopy list and a clinic. On call is negotiable and can be at either registrar or consultant level dependant on candidate accreditation. While the ability to colonoscope independently is desirable it is not an absolute requirement and training will be provided.
