Treatment Centre Manager - North

Job Overview

For over 30 years Sanofi Genzyme have led the way in developing transformative medicines for patients affected by rare and debilitating diseases. We take great pride in the way in which we have partnered with both clinicians and patient organisations in this field. In England, affected adults and children are cared for in a number of dedicated metabolic treatment centres, based in tertiary hospitals.

This new and unique role will be responsible for managing Sanofi Genzyme’s relationships with both the clinical teams within the leading metabolic treatment centres, and the relevant diagnostic specialties. This is a high profile, highly visible role demanding leadership and management skills, in addition to outstanding sales and account management abilities.
The right person will be a naturally resourceful and entrepreneurial individual with an urgency to deliver both your own and your customer’s objectives.


Responsibilities

The TCM will be responsible for managing Sanofi Genzyme’s relationships with both the clinical teams within these metabolic treatment centres, and the relevant diagnostic specialties within that Trust, in what is an increasingly competitive environment. This is a high profile, highly visible role demanding leadership and management skills, in addition to outstanding sales and account management abilities.

  • Leading on translating the Rare Disease strategy and vision into both account and customer engagement plans in and around the Rare Disease treatment centres on your geography. This will require the engagement and co-operation of the cross-functional and head office teams
  • Through partnership working and high-level engagement, deliver value propositions to a defined customer group in the metabolic treatment centres
  • Accelerate market share growth and naïve initiations through the management of Sanofi Genzyme’s rare disease portfolio in the metabolic treatment centres
  • Generate KOL engagement and advocacy activities at a regional, national and international level
  • Manage effectively the interface between Sanofi Genzyme’s sales, marketing, medical, advocacy and leadership functions and the metabolic treatment centres


Requirements & Qualifications

  • A naturally resourceful and entrepreneurial individual with an exceptional record of high achievement ideally in either the rare disease or specialty care environment over 5 years or more.
  • Evidence of line management experience and the ability to leverage cross-functional relationships at a senior level would be an advantage.
  • Outstanding account management and planning skills, with a proven track record of driving performance through key account management. Evidence of conceptual thinking and exceptional communication skills to create and deliver business plans in collaboration with the other functions in a business.
  • Personal gravitas and credibility to leverage relationships internally and externally to lead a cross-functional team on collaborative projects and customer interactions
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and actively delivering innovative solutions both internally and externally

Essentials:

  • High knowledge of NHS environment, drivers and pathways
  • Degree level, within a life science subject preferable.
  • An experienced and proven key account manager with leadership capability
  • Strong commercial acumen and budget management skills
  • Detailed understanding of ABPI Code of Practice and its practical application in a business environment.


Desirable

  • Line management experience
  • In-depth understanding of the Rare Disease environment, in particular the field of rare and ultra-orphan diseases
  • Strong commercial acumen and budget management skills
  • ABPI qualified (level 3)


Terms of Employment

Full Time Position, must be able to travel within the UK and at times abroad


What makes this position unique?

This is a new role in Sanofi-Genzyme and will be part of the highly specialised and high performing RARE disease team. This small team are dedicated to supporting clinicians and families with diagnosing and treating patients with RARE and debilitating diseases.

The TCM role will be the lead in the treatment centres and key diagnosing centres across the UK and will be responsible for managing Sanofi Genzyme’s relationships with both the clinical teams within the leading metabolic treatment centres, and the relevant diagnostic specialties.
