Transport Supervisor

Revest Recruitment are looking for an experienced and highly organised Transportation Supervisor to oversee logistics and transportation operation for our client in Brentford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transport and distribution operation and providing excellent standards of service, efficiency and performance through outstanding people management skills.

Duties

• Responsible for all the dispatching, routing and tracking of 11+ delivery vehicles which run on a 24 hour basis,
• Ensuring the right products and quantities arrive to the correct locations at the right time, to both national and international destinations.
• Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing leadership and support to meet operational targets
• Oversee the maintenance and utilisation of vehicles, ensuring all are fit for purpose and compliant with legal requirements
• Ensure company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures adhered to.
• Arranging inductions and training of all new transport staff.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping of transportation activities, vehicle logs, and compliance documentation
• Debriefing drivers, including tacho analysis when required.
• Appraising staff performance, taking disciplinary action when required.
• Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently, regularly liasing with the delivery manager to ensure a smooth running of departments whist developing and nurturing customer relationships.
• Identifying operational issues, potential problems and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Able to operate effectively in a high-volume service driven transport operation.
• Possessing a good understanding of all relevant legal compliance and fleet controls.
• Knowledgeable in all process compliance areas including Legislative, Productivity, Quality and Service.
• Comprehensive understanding all of areas of the supply chain.
• Full understanding of transport operational systems.
• Able to work diplomatically with heads of other company departments
• FMCG background and hold a National CPC.
