My client, a leading 3PL is seeking a Transport Manager for their new Start-up.

Locations: - Allington, Maidstone

Shift:- Days

Salary:- Circ £40-45000.00

Person: Previous Transport Management experience is essential along with an International CPC.

Role: Accountability for Transport Operational function to achieve effective and efficient operations with excellent standards of service, efficiency and performance through outstanding people management skills.

o Responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of all colleagues in area of responsibility.
o Accountable for ensuring that all legal and Transport compliance processes and procedures are adhered to.
o Responsible for the Transport site strategy.
o Day to day management of the Transport Operations function.
o Identify, propose and manage resource to enable the Transport function to deliver its objectives.
o Build and motivate the team, including recruitment, performance management and ongoing team development
o Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies within the Transport function, recommending and implementing changes
o Responsible for the control of Health & Safety, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to
o Review, report and address any specific performance issues or complaints about service levels .
o Support the Team in creating and delivering great communications to provide everyone with a two way information flow, also use relevant tools and forums to ensure the team are fully engaged
o Responsible for the delivery of costumer initiatives in area of responsibility.
o Ensure all Company and site policies, procedures and processes are adhered to.
o Maintain a positive relationship with the onsite union and involvement in negotiations as appropriate.
o Utilise first choice methodologies to support continuous improvement.
o Create a culture of engagement and inclusion within the Transport function and across the site
o Management and accountability of the budget for the unit for work to be delivered within budget target
o Involvement in the annual budget planning process to agree ongoing Transport budget
o Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies within the Transport function, recommending and implementing changes
o Lead Team Managers and optimise day-to-day performance ensuring KPI's are met or exceeded.
o Manage direct reports including performance reviews, performance management and career development.
o Directly coach members of the team to improve their performance and manage under performance where necessary.
