An exciting opportunity is now available for a UK Transport / General Manager based out of our clients UK headquarters in Chester.
The UK General Manager will be responsible for the profitability of the agency which he/she manages, ensuring that the objectives set out and approved by Management in the yearly business plan are respected. You will ensure the correct and proper running of the agency and the respect of the Group's values in order to ensure the respect of established social legislation.
You will ensure that the agency's operations are carried out according to the same legal provisions that govern the Group's activities and will build and maintain a strong working relationship between their agency and other agencies, affiliates and services of the Group, also respecting the rules and regulations established for the effective management of administrative tasks, purchasing and staff.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the UK General Manager will also be responsible for the following:
Running of the dispatch office
Quality control and insurance
Workshop and purchasing
To apply for the role it is essential that you have experience from within the HEAVY HAULAGE and/or PLANT Distribution industry at either a General Management or Depot Management level. You must have a strong commercial background and have a knowledge compiling and working to budgets. You will be expected to have a good level of intelligence, trustworthy and a people person with a strong management technique.
It is also important that all applicants have a strong commercial focus and ready to lead the sales charge.
Written and verbal knowledge of the FRENCH language would be an advantage but not essential.
