Our client is looking for a Transport Coordinator to start immediately based in the Crawley area. You will be responsible for the day to day administration functions of the transport operation. With a background in transport/logistics along with good IT and administration experience you will be the first point of contact for transport queries.
The client is one of the UK’s leading supplier to the Building Services sector and distribute various components daily to various customers across the UK.
The candidate must be enthusiastic, positive and pro-active around engagement. Previous experience of working in a transport environment and/or knowledge of transport legislation is ideal.
To be considered for this position, you must have need to have the following skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
Must be well organised with meticulous attention to detail.
PC literate, including Microsoft Excel would be preferable.
Fluent English speaker.
Competent Excel skills
Some daily duties will include but are not limited to:
Managing driver’s hours, vehicle routing, tracking, driver planning, vehicle load profiling and all sub-contractor administrative requirements.
Management of Proof Of Deliver devices
Check Driver / Delivery Run Sheets
Manage deviations in a timely manor
Liaise & Schedule deliveries with sub-contractors / couriers.
Manage driver weights / volumes / special delivery requirements
Manage CRM Case load with Customer Service team.
You will be required to Monday to Friday starting at 09:00 and finishing at 18:00. This is a temporary to permanent position & you will be taken on by the client permanently after a qualifying period.
