A rapidly expanding Logistics provider is seeking a dynamic Transport Co-Ordinator to assist with their aggressive growth plans.

This highly successful General Haulage and Pallet Network provider has a number of high profile contracts and a very busy Transport Office in Maltby.

This is a permanent role working nights on a 4 on 4 off rota. You will be responsible for providing a dedicated customer service, processing orders, monitoring jobs and liaising with customers by e-mail and telephone. Transport Co-Ordinator Duties

  • Monitoring current jobs and updating their progress onto the Truckcom system
  • Pre-briefing drivers at the beginning of the shift and allocating work to them as set out by the planning department
  • Maintaining a strong line of communication with drivers: staying in telephone contact for delays, returns of stock and timings of deliveries
  • Maintaining compliance with H&S and ensuring that company procedures are followed
  • Raising any driver non-conformances and reporting these to the shift manager
  • Tracking delays and charging back any demurrage costs
  • Debriefing drivers upon their return: this involves monitoring fuel cards, downloading tacho cards and POD's and reporting all defects to the shift manager
  • Going out into the yard regularly to carry out random vehicle compliance checks and checking drivers licenses

Transport Co-Ordinator Requirements

  • Previous experience of dealing with drivers directly (pre-briefing, and de-briefing) gained in a busy transport office
  • Transport admin experience, such as filling out proof of delivery paperwork
  • A calm and firm attitude and the ability to deal with sudden fluctuations in workload
  • Highly computer literate, ideally with exposure to Transport Management systems
  • Knowledge or exposure to ISO Quality Systems beneficial but not essential
  • An enthusiastic attitude: you must be willing to take on ad-hoc duties as and when required by the business
