Procurement Service Manager
Our successful transactional procurement department is looking for a new Service Manager to manage, lead, develop and motivate the members of our Transactional Procurement team whilst providing a best in class service to 33 NHS organisations.
It is an exciting time to join the team, which forms part of NHS SBS Integrated Procurement Services department, as we embark on a period of transformation into an enhanced structure with new systems.
Reporting into the Head of Integrated Procurement Services Delivery, you will directly manage the Transactional Procurement process and team to monitor and measure performance, taking action to deliver efficiencies and increase productivity, as well as drive improvements within the procurement process to ensure this runs smoothly for our NHS clients.
If you have procurement experience with a passion to improve customer experience or are experienced in managing large teams, perhaps in a call centre or shared service, with a focus on customer satisfaction and process efficiency we want to hear from you.
Lead and develop the Transactional Procurement team, monitoring performance and working with team members to drive optimal outputs
Work closely with your line manager, Head of Integrated Procurement Services Delivery, to be a change agent for new systems, structures and processes ensuring successful adoption and minimising customer impact
Provide daily, weekly and ad-hoc reporting to senior management on the performance of Transactional Procurement service delivery, applying a risk management approach and escalating where required
Identify the need for service improvement initiatives as part of day-to-day service management, devising, presenting for approval and implementing improvement initiatives at pace, as required
Ensure team compliance and adherence to procurement processes, implementing improvements and driving efficiency wherever possible and acting as a point of escalation where required
Put the customer at the heart of the service, instilling this approach in the team, to deliver an excellent customer experience and support improvement in the teams existing customer feedback
Take the lead in team management activities such as staff recognition and awards, recruitment, Great Place to Work initiatives and team meetings
Integrate and build relationships between the Transactional Procurement service and other NHS SBS departments, including Strategic Sourcing, P2P and Finance and Accounting Service Management to maximise service effectiveness for customers
Implement and maintain a rolling programme of client communications including newsletters, webinars and intranet/internet content
Support account management activities for Integrated Procurement Services, becoming a key player in service delivery and transformation for customers
Take ownership of the audit and business continuity activities of the Transactional Procurement team
Support the delivery of financial targets in line with the budget for Transactional Procurement by aligning services to headcount/budget and revenue generation
- Working knowledge and understanding of the procurement / purchase-to-pay process
