Transactional Services Manager

My client a prestigious services business is looking to appoint a Transnational Services Manager based in their head office in York. This is a newly created role and will involve:

  • To drive and manage the strategy and operation of the Purchase Ledger and Credit Control functions across the group
  • Ensure that the group has a robust, consistent credit policy and that it is being followed
    (Including the management and control of granting of credit terms as defined and required by internal processes)
  • Effectively manage the risk of non-payment by customers and ensure that debt is collected in
    accordance with terms and drive process change to ensure that this is done in the most effective and efficient way across the group across all ledgers
  • To oversee and manage the process for recovering monies through legal proceedings across the
  • Ensure that month end reports are generated in the most effective and efficient way across the
    business and that these reports are completed and circulated according to internal reporting
  • To maintain and enhance financial controls to ensure that only authorised payments are made to
    suppliers and that these payments are accurately recorded in the company cashbooks and recorded
    in the most efficient way
  • To focus on achieving best efficient working capital management through management of Purchase
    and Sales Ledger activities across the business
  • To ensure that the monthly reconciliations of various, relevant Balance Sheet control accounts
    (across all entities) in respect of Purchase and Sales Ledgers and cash balances
    are performed and recorded and that the stated balances are accurate
  • To ensure the business complies with all current VAT, CIS and other tax regulations and
    procedures (relating to both input and output indirect taxes).
    You will report to the Financial Controller - Risk & Transaction Services
    Responsible for (Roles) Credit Controllers, Sales Ledger Clerks, Purchase Ledger Supervisor,
    Purchase Ledger Clerks (sixteen staff in total)
  • Be aware of current legislation as necessary in order to effectively manage the Credit Control,
    Purchase Ledger and Cashiers (including legislation on paying suppliers, collecting debt and Consumer Credit legislation)
  • To review all current processes and procedures and drive consistency of process and approach,
    ensure maximisation of capability, efficiency, effectiveness and automation of work practices and
    operations within areas of responsibility
  • To participate fully in improvement projects
  • Work effectively with and as a key part of all businesses

Remuneration package:

£40,000-50,000 per annum

24 days holiday plus bank holidays
