Transaction Manager

My client based in Birmingham are looking for an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis to join an exciting and growing organisation. The organisation are a real estate advisory-led business, they offer their clients a service that spans the entire property lifecycle from strategy and planning, through to delivery and management.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Line management for a team of Assistant Accountants to include but not limited to monthly 121’s, half yearly appraisals and ensuring that all team members are meeting the expectations of their roles, including identifying development requirements
• Reviewing the current processes within the team and identifying opportunities to streamline whilst still maintaining a controlled and risk adverse environment
• Ensuring all processes and procedures within the team are documented and updated regularly
• Measure and report on the progress of the team within the teams compliance reports
• To deliver the processes within the team, ensuring the internal and external KPI measurements are met
• Reviewing and approving where required, processes and reports that the team undertake
• Assist in the various team tasks as and when required
• The main activities of the team include, database updates, invoice review, gathering invoice authorisation and processing invoices to enable payment. Generating the payment reports, internally and externally. Monitoring and responding to the queries received within the finance inbox including supplier reconciliations and team requests
• Proactive cash management and monitoring of cash levels
• Assist and drive any ad hoc projects within the team
• Deliver additional ad hoc reports as required
• Deliver the monthly targets and delivery to the organisation's standard

You will be reporting to the senior finance manager and will be responsible for managing a team of assistant accountants to deliver the day to day processes for large corporate clients

Ideal for any individual with motivation to learn and develop any existing skills. The selected candidate will have the following:

• Experience of working to tight deadlines
• Strong analytical skills
• Problem solving abilities
• Ability to deal with high volumes of work and prioritise accordingly
• Experience of working within a real estate business
• Excellent eye for detail
• Ability to multi-task
• Trustworthy, organised and a self-starter
• Must have experience of managing a team and a strong understanding of management accounts
