Opcare is the largest supplier of artificial limb services to the NHS in England and we are looking to recruit a full time trainee technician to join our friendly team at Ability House, Abingdon. This is a rewarding role with variety and challenge and the opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives. In principle, the role is to manufacture artificial limbs (prosthesis) according to clinical specifications. This involves composite fabrication and plastics vacuum forming as well as assembly of prosthesis.

Tasks/responsibilities will include: • Use tools and special materials to develop the prosthesis • Pay careful attention to detailed instructions • Ensure work is manufactured to a high standard • Complying with health & safety to maintain a safe and clean working environment Previous experience is not essential as full in-house training is provided. We are looking for an enthusiastic and can-do team member who can: • Be organised and plan ahead • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills • Be able to relate to people of all ages and physical disability • Be attentive to quality/have an eye for detail Opcare is a progressive company offering excellent training and development. Starting salary will depend on experience with opportunities to progress.
