Trainee Learning Support Assistant - Bishops Stortford

They are set in 65 acres of parkland on the Essex/Herts border and comprises a Residential Special School, an FE College with Domiciliary Care, and a village of modern bungalows for residents requiring Adult Residential Care, Nursing and Therapy.

About the Job

Your responsibilities will include, assisting with the development and implementation of individual education/behaviour plans, personal care programmes and supporting pupils/students to achieve learning goals promoting esteem and independence

Successful applicants will receive 7 days of training prior to working with the residents including MAPA Training, Epilepsy Training, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, etc.

Requirements

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in SSLTiS
  • Empathy and understanding of working with residents with LD and associated complex needs.

Your responsibilities will include supporting curriculum work in the classroom, supporting learners' wellbeing, administration, care provision, and assisting risk management.

Requirements

To be considered for this role you must have:

Willingness and ability to work towards Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare and NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

Empathy and understanding of working with residents with LD and associated complex needs.
