Trainee Examiner

We are currently partnering with a renowned Civil Engineering Consultancy, who are looking for 7 Trainee Examiners across the U.K. They specialise in Structures Asset Management Engineering and difficult access inspections of the Rail and Highway industries.

This opportunity is well suited to someone either starting their journey in Construction, Rail or Engineering, OR someone looking for a total change, learning a completely new discipline, leading to a long successful career.

The role

To develop full competence for the examination of structures in accordance with project requirements. All work must be delivered safely and in compliance with all relevant standards.

You would be enrolled on a training academy which is a 3 month long intensive training course based 5 days a week in Derby- it will be all expenses paid, accommodation, fuel, food etc, and allows you to come away with qualifications in Structural Examinations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Be prepared to undertake a comprehensive training scheme, including a structures examination course, mentorship, assessment and other associated training

Some experience of the UK rail or construction industries, particularly operating on-site in a live environment

5 GCSE's Grade A-C, including Maths and English

Medically fit (pass pre-employment medical and ongoing medicals, including Drug and Alcohol tests).

Full, clean UK driving licence

IT Literate (Microsoft Office)

Have strong communication and inter-personal skills. You will relate well to colleagues, customers and members of the public at all levels

Be a self-starter, able to take responsibility and work with minimum supervision, at times under pressure

Have excellent organisational skills; be able to multitask and re-prioritise to meet changing needs and deadlines

Be prepared to learn and implement specialist access techniques such as confined space working, rope access, working on or under water, working at height etcStarting Salary £24km increasing to £27k on completion of Training, this will increase to £30k following 1 years service in the delivery team, increase to £36k after 2 years of service and promotion to examiner.
